Introducing, Daryā

The ocean has always been my place of calm and happiness. Spending time in the sun and by the water calms and rejuvenates me, and for a moment, the hustle and bustle of life stands still. For Elle Forma’s next collection, I wanted to pursue this sense of tranquillity and natural beauty.

And so the Daryā collection was formed. With pieces influenced by the fluidity of water and the textures of sand and shells, Daryā reflects the bliss of summer, carefree seaside holidays, and the feeling of peacefulness that the ocean so easily brings. The intention is for this collection to be reminiscent of your own beachside memories, whatever they may be.

Daryā, meaning ‘the sea’ in Farsi, pays tribute to the rich history of Persia and the ways in which its old-world dynasties have guided the Elle Forma aesthetic. When sourcing gemstones for this collection, inspiration came from the blue and green tones often seen in Persian dynasty jewels, gowns and interiors. The exquisite colours of teal sapphire, green aventurine and deep blue lapis immediately evoke the sea.

Daryā reflects the bliss of summer, carefree seaside holidays, and the feeling of peacefulness that the ocean so easily brings.

One versatile piece from the collection are the Rumi Earrings, which move gently on the ear and bring to mind ripples in the sea. Even in the midst of winter here in Australia, they instantly transport you to a glorious summer day at the beach, floating in the calm waters of the ocean.

As well as gemstone jewellery, the Daryā collection features a selection of gold chains and bracelets. From the modern elegance of the Gianna Chain to the striking beauty of the Raya Chain, these pieces are perfect for layering and elevating any outfit. Then there are the Halle, Ines and Isla Rings, which are hand carved in jewellers wax, and cast in gold using a technique called lost-wax casting. The result is an organic shape that mimics the flowing effect of water, with each individual ring having its own unique characteristics.
